Contents

- Acquisition Market 2026: In 2025, the SME acquisition market recovered with slight growth. In 2026, that recovery is more broad-based, but also more selective: buyers are focusing more explicitly on businesses with digital clout, scalability and predictable revenue.

- Q&A Harco van Uden (ExperienceTravel): With the acquisition of Silverjet Vacations, Harco van Uden doubled ExperienceTravel's revenue to 65 million euros in one fell swoop. However, it took twelve years before the deal was completed. "I wanted to pay for the opportunities, but not for the pain points.

- The rise of search funds: More and more young entrepreneurs are choosing to take over an existing business. Through the so-called search fund model, they are attracting investors to find, buy and manage one company themselves. "But there are still few success stories in the Netherlands.

- Consolidation in the dental chair: The Dutch oral care sector is changing rapidly. Private equity is increasingly buying up dental practices, creating larger chains. 'Starting from six treatment rooms, an acquisition of a dental practice only becomes attractive.'

- Deal Alex van Hooff (Burgers' Zoo): Alex van Hooff runs the family business Burgers' Zoo. This year he took a rare step into the zoo world with his first and probably only acquisition: GaiaZOO in Kerkrade. 'This was really a godsend.'

- Deal Wouter Jansen van Velsen (Mocca d'Or): Wouter Jansen van Velsen attracted an investor with Berk Partners, in order to further grow together with Mocca d'Or via a buy & build strategy. In the process, well-known coffee roaster Peeze was the first to be added to the newly formed Coffee Growth Group. "I feel like a steward of these businesses.

- Deal Sera Schoordijk-Koeleman (Undo Your Tattoo): With Undo Your Tattoo, Sera Schoordijk-Koeleman professionalized the Dutch tattoo removal market. To accelerate international growth, she brought in Australian investment fund Factory Capital. 'I want to grow in a controlled way and not compromise on quality.'

- Roundtable interviews with subject matter experts: What are the most important trends and developments in mergers & acquisitions, private equity, legal matters and financing for 2026?

Roundtable M&A:
'Entrepreneurs don't have time to wait, they want to move on'

Roundtable M&A:'Most entrepreneurs are positive in the race'

Private equity roundtable: 'Look critically at which investor is the best fit for you'

Roundtable Legal: 'Caution is the new normal in acquisitions'

Finance roundtable: 'Banks have launched a charm offensive'
