Transport company

An MBI candidate is looking for an acquisition candidate in the transport sector, active in road transport in and around the Amsterdam metropolitan area. The search area lies within the line Almere, Hilversum, Lisse, Haarlem and Zaandam. The objective is to realize last-mile distribution towards downtown Amsterdam through the company. Transport with box trucks is beyond the scope of interest.

Location
Preference is given to a company with existing infrastructure, such as a planning department, equipment, a fleet of about 5 to 20 cars and relevant software. It is not required that the business is already active in urban distribution, as long as the facilities are in place. The focus is on domestic transport and possibly transport to neighboring countries. International activities from the past are no objection, provided the focus is now on the Amsterdam region.

Financial criteria
Preferably the real estate will also be acquired, with sufficient space around the premises desirable for equipment and efficient loading and unloading. The company sought ideally has revenue of up to approximately €4 million and EBITDA of up to approximately €1 million. Businesses with a larger size or negative profit are also negotiable.

Profile of MBI candidate
The MBI candidate has extensive experience in (international) road transport and heavy/special transport and has a good network. He is financially solid and has sufficient resources available for a complete takeover. His intention is to assume management without the company being dependent on his daily presence. Four to five former employees are willing to work with him again.
