Vineyard and B&B Portugal

In the Noorden of Portugal lies the vineyard in question whose business consists of winemaking and a B&B. The wines have very good to excellent reviews and are exported mainly to top Dutch restaurants and the Far East, among others. This is partly due to a completely unique view of the way the vines are treated and the way the vinification process is organized. Right next to the wine cellar is a magnificent tasting room that can be used for multiple purposes. Currently there are 6 spacious rooms with private bathrooms, a spacious dining room, several terraces and living rooms.

Key figures
With the wines an annual profit of about € 80,000 can be achieved and for the exploitation of the B&B we count on € 100,000. There is 1 FTE (Portuguese) employed. Total size of the complex is 6.6 hectares. The owner has an exclusive option on some 16 hectares of neighboring vineyard.

Details
The location of the complex is unique and thus has appeal to the upper segment. The complex still offers much room for expansion for which (possibly) a subsidy scheme from the Portuguese government is still available. This means that 70% can be financed with an interest-free loan. This investment is assessed annually in terms of execution and results. If these are in line with the plans outlined in the subsidy application, 1/7 of the loan can be forgiven each year. Since the region is still somewhat less developed than, for example, the Algarve, the government is interested in further development of this region.
