Effective June 1, 2021, the Stokvis Group in Voorhout has acquired electrical engineering specialist Verhoef EMC of Sliedrecht from Pon Holdings. With the acquisition, the Stokvis Group is strengthening its expertise in the field of hybrid drive systems, electrical installations and services. This applies in particular to ADS van STIGT, a subsidiary of the Stokvis Group. Together, the sister companies offer a complete range of mechanical and electrical systems. Most of these are drive, operating and control systems for the maritime sector or industry.
With ELSTO Drives & Controls, STOLK Services, EMCÉ Winches, ADS van STIGT and now Verhoef EMC, the Stokvis Group has a stronger market position for businesses in industry, shipping and offshore. With the new acquisition, an even broader group of businesses can be supplied with drives, electrical systems and related services. Especially places like Gorinchem, Werkendam and Sliedrecht have many activities in the field of shipbuilding, maintenance and dredging.
Verhoef (founded in 1954 and based in Sliedrecht) merged with Europe Marine Controls in 2017. Focused on the maritime, utility and industrial markets, Verhoef EMC can completely design, produce, install or renovate installations for both new construction and refits. Core activities are electrical system integration, panel building and drive technology.
The field service operates worldwide for service, maintenance, repair, supervision and renovation work. Experienced and highly trained personnel are also available in case of breakdowns. Tests and inspections ensure the quality of installations.
Currently, Verhoef EMC has about 50 employees and operates mainly in the small and medium-sized shipping industry. Since July 1, Edwin Naaktgeboren has been employed as General Manager.
