Description

The business develops a modular battery and hybrid power platform for compact professional machines with high power demand.

The company addresses a structural problem in the market: many of these machines still rely on mains power or internal combustion engines because existing battery solutions take up too much space, disrupt the balance of the machine or are difficult to integrate.

Therefore, a battery platform is being developed that better suits the design and use of these types of machines. This allows more efficient use of available space and keeps the machine in better balance, making electrification in this segment practically feasible.

The solution combines a modular LFP battery system with an optional hybrid module, enabling deployment in applications where full battery use is not practical or economically feasible today.

The platform is also prepared for data-driven applications and future compact autonomous machines, with communication capabilities for status information, power limitation and diagnostics.

The technology has been validated in operational prototypes and tested in practical situations within floor-machining machines, moving from concept to working application.

The initial market introduction will be through own machines, which will serve as demonstration and validation of the platform in practice and also generate initial revenue. On this basis, scaling up will take place through cooperation with OEM manufacturers, supporting partners in the integration and further development of new machine architectures based on the platform.

The platform is being developed with support from partners and investors with relevant expertise in battery technology, systems integration and product development.

The business is in the pre-revenue phase, with validation from field tests and concrete interest from end-users and an international market player.

Business model:

  • Sales of modular battery and hybrid power systems for compact and medium-sized machines.
  • Supply the platform to OEM partners for integration into existing and new machine platforms (primary scaling strategy)
  • Sales of own machines as demonstration, validation and first revenue
  • Co-engineering and system integration in cooperation with industrial partners to support OEM integration.
  • Expansion to multiple machine categories and applications after initial market validation

USPs:

  • Geometry-driven battery architecture that enables efficient integration into compact high-power machines while maintaining balance and usable space
  • Hybrid functionality (mains and battery) as a practical bridge to full electrification in applications where battery-only is not yet sufficient
  • Specifically developed for compact high-power machines where existing battery solutions fall short
  • Platform approach instead of standalone battery, designed for integration into machine architectures and applicable in multiple categories and OEM environments
  • OEM-ready with SAE J1939-compatible CAN interface for status, power limits and diagnostics
  • Validated in operational prototypes within realistic applications
  • Developed with data-driven and partially autonomous machine architectures in mind

Investment Need:
The investment will be used to move from operational prototypes to initial industrialization and market validation.

Focus:

  • further development and robustness of the platform
  • certification and validation in relevant applications
  • tooling and preparation for small-scale production
  • production and deployment of own machines
  • Support for OEM collaborations and pilot integrations.

The business operates with a low cost structure and has working prototypes. The investment is being used to scale up in a controlled manner toward commercial applications.

The investment enables:

  • first commercial revenue to be realized
  • achieve validation in commercial applications
  • OEM integrations to start up
  • laying foundation for scale-up

Desired competencies investor:
The focus is on:

  • product development and robustness
  • certification and validation
  • production preparation
  • OEM integration support.

Investment contributes to:

  • structural revenue
  • technical and commercial validation
  • scaling up the platform

Experience founder(s):
The founder has approximately 17 years of experience in the floor processing industry and has been actively involved in the use, optimization and development of professional machines.

This experience led to a deep understanding of technical constraints, particularly in the areas of power, integration, weight distribution and power supply. This formed the basis for a new approach to battery integration in compact high-power machines.

The business is supported by a small group of (pre)seed investors and partners with expertise in battery technology, systems engineering and product development. In addition, an engineering partner is involved as a shareholder.

For prototyping and machine development, we cooperate with a specialized partner, enabling rapid development and field validation.

The technology has been developed into operational prototypes and integrated into working machines.

Other relevant information:
To date, approximately €150,000 has been invested by (pre-)seed investors with relevant expertise. In addition, the founder has invested substantially himself.

First phase focuses on industrialization and market launch, using own machines for validation and initial revenue.

The initial market approach focuses on the Benelux countries and Germany. These markets form the basis for further roll-out.

Then the focus shifts to OEM collaborations, creating scale through integration into existing platforms and larger production runs.
