Hotbath sold to Swedish FM Mattsson Mora Group
The Dutch/Italian business Hotbath - specialist in Italian quality faucets - has been taken over by the Swedish FM Mattsson Mora Group, the largest Scandinavian producer of faucets. Hogenhouck accompanied this sale for Hotbath.
Hotbath was founded 12 years ago by entrepreneur Erwin Liesting. Erwin on this sale: "The sale of Hotbath is an exciting new chapter in the story of Hotbath and I think FM Mattsson Mora is the best possible foundation for the business and team that has built Hotbath into the market leader in this segment."
Hotbath will become a separate business unit within the group headed by managing director Marius Visser. Founder Erwin Liesting will remain with Hotbath for strategic advice.
Originally an import and trading company, Hotbath has created a valuable position with its focus on faucets. Hein Stoops, partner Hogenhouck, supervised the transaction: "Hotbath is a unique business that has built a quality brand with a strong range, beautiful design and a clear choice of sales channels. By supplying through sanitary specialty stores and outsourcing production to quality producers, the brand promise is fulfilled. This pays off in good ratings for the company."
For FM Mattsson Mora Group, the purchase of Hotbath is a good addition to their geographical position and product portfolio. Sales activities in the Netherlands can be supplemented with sales to new markets under the Hotbath label. Also, the new shareholder can potentially use Hotbath's supply-chain.
