Strategic acquisition Weijdeland Childcare & 't Koetshuisje by Kindernet

Within the objective of strengthening its position in its catchment area and adjacent areas with high-quality childcare locations through expansion and acquisitions, as of December 9, 2021, Kindernet acquired Weijdeland Childcare and 't Koetshuisje.

Weijdeland & 't Koetshuisje, with a total of five branches (collectively consisting of 10 groups with approximately 35 employees) in the Achterhoek and Arnhem, are now part of the parent company Kindernet.

Kindernet is an important player in the eastern Netherlands, with several locations in Doetinchem, Zutphen and Deventer. The child care organization stands for growth and development, working every day to keep the quality of all locations at a high level. Nothing will change about the locations, policies and personnel organization of Weijdeland & 't Koetshuisje.

Selma Özkan (owner of Kindernet) on the takeover: "Childcare is a dynamic sector that needs to be managed well from a business point of view, but where the most important thing is excellent pedagogical practice. I believe that, as an important player in the eastern Netherlands, we should be able to continue to meet the growing demand for such high-quality child care. The business acquisition of these five branches is an important step in that".

The selling entrepreneurs, both highly experienced and prominent individuals within the childcare industry, will step down from day-to-day operations. Ms. Van de Grift, from her expertise, will remain involved with Kindernet as an adviser on pedagogical innovation. Mr. Hardenberg will develop other business activities outside of childcare.
