Correctbook is the erasable notebook that lasts indefinitely in developing regions. In 2014, during a vacation in South Africa, founder Sam van Tol saw firsthand that children did not have access to basic writing materials, such as pen and paper. The materials were too expensive and, moreover, ran out quickly. As a result, 250 million children still go to school every day without pen and paper. More than 750 million people worldwide over the age of 15 are illiterate partly because of this.

Correctbook has the goal of providing 1 million children with one year of writing by 2023. To achieve this goal, Correctbook has joined forces with Roel de Haas, who has more than 11 years of experience in the supply chain of reading books in Africa, to form a joint venture called Correctbook Afrika B.V. In doing so, Correctbook is taking a big step toward making writing possible for everyone in the world.

Roel de Haas is the founder and former owner of the BlueTree Group. BlueTree aims to increase access to affordable, high-quality books for children in low-income countries. Books, provided by an efficient and sustainable local book chain, are a key ingredient for quality education. BlueTree has supported the printing of more than 100 million books in more than 35 countries.

According to Sam van Tol, Correctbook can accelerate its ambitious mission with the accession of Roel de Haas. 'Being locally present allows us to step into other existing markets, such as the NGO market. We will build Correctbook Africa and make it possible for local people to purchase their own Correctbook.'
