Eurofiber is acquiring the fiber-optic activities of Dutch access, transport and service provider Levelfour. With the acquisition, Eurofiber is taking a new step in strengthening its position in the market for fiber-optic connections at business parks. Levelfour is selling its network activities to focus fully on managed connectivity, VoIP and IP services.
Levelfour Networks B.V. was founded in 2015 with the aim of providing business parks in the Netherlands with affordable and future-proof broadband infrastructure. With acquisitions including Glasvezel Vught 2015), ParkNed Waalwijk 2017) and Altena Breedband Combinatie (2019), it grew into a company that provides digital infrastructure for 15 business parks, including in Waalwijk, Houten, Roermond, and Aalburg. With the sale of its network operations, parent company Levelfour will focus entirely on managed connectivity, VoIP and ISP services. CEO Peter Grotenhuis: 'The connectivity market is undergoing consolidation. Specialized, wealthy parties with a long-term horizon are building and integrating fiber-optic networks, with which they make digital infrastructure available very efficiently. In the Netherlands Eurofiber is the prime example of this. It has a very extensive open access network of extremely high quality, and is the best party we could wish for our clients. We are therefore very pleased with this agreement.'
Eurofiber is active in the field of digital infrastructure with nine of its own datacenters and a fiber-optic network of 37,200 kilometers in the Netherlands, Belgium and France. Eurofiber recently strengthened its position in the market for fiber-optic connections at business parks with the acquisition of Brightfiber. The acquisition of the fiber-optic activities of Levelfour Networks represents a further implementation of its strategy in this market. Managing director Paul Naastepad of Eurofiber Nederland: 'The digitalization of companies is in full swing. This also applies to small and medium-sized enterprises, where crucial business processes are increasingly dependent on the availability of secure high-capacity digital connections. Quality requirements which until recently were mainly set by large companies and organizations are also increasingly commonplace in small and medium-sized enterprises. This offers great opportunities for Eurofiber to further expand its position in this segment. The acquisition of the fibre-optic networks of Levelfour Networks fits in perfectly with this.'
Factor & Ros acted as advisers on behalf of the selling party, Levelfour Networks, during the acquisition process.
