After guiding three successful financing rounds since 2016, Dutch Dream Group on behalf of AnJa Fiber B.V. had the opportunity to guide the sale of its operating companies to DELTA Fiber Nederland B.V.

About the company

AnJa Fiber was founded by two young entrepreneurs from Flevoland. As ICT entrepreneurs, they had to deal on a daily basis with the shortcomings of the current, outdated infrastructure in rural areas. They have therefore been working for some time to improve broadband facilities in their own region. After a successful demand bundling and construction in the Noordoostpolder in 2017, large parts of the outlying area in the Province of North Holland were also connected two years later. With all the necessary technical knowledge in-house, our guys (who prefer to remain anonymous) turned out to be the obvious party to coordinate and operate this project. Most recently, therefore, the village centers in the Noordoostpolder were also "gasified" in 2021.

About the process

For the custom financing of the first network 2016-17, we worked in close cooperation with ABN Amro 's sector team. A high participation rate among the local population and a high level of fixed fee surrender, enabled the young company to bring in a significant portion of "equity. Based on a detailed financial business case developed by Dutch Dream Group, the bank financing could then be raised. After the necessary track record was established in the first network, the 2nd and 3rd networks were also completed with the ABN.

In mid-early 2022, when the final phase of the network was still in full development, the entrepreneurs were approached by various market leaders in the fiber optic market. This developed into serious interest, resulting in several competitive bids. During the six months that followed, intensive talks were held and a very nice agreement was reached with DELTA Fiber Netherlands. An ambitious player, which in terms of pragmatism and mentality fits well with the entrepreneurs. In close cooperation, the last phase of the last network was completed in the past year, thus completing the transfer.

Given our ambition to assist entrepreneurs throughout their entrepreneurial adventure, this case was one out of the book for us.
