Interhal from Breda is a stockist distributor of (professional) catering & kitchen tools, mass catering equipment and design kitchen equipment. Director Guus van der Borgt took over the business in 2009 and, with his team, managed to grow revenue substantially within a few years. A handsome achievement.

Partly encouraged by this success, in 2017 he had the ambition to further expand Interhal with a buy-and-build strategy. Realizing this business growth required investors who would provide the necessary capital.

Interhal, Antea and Diligence, a strong triangular formation
Through Diligence, Guus van der Borgt came into contact with Robert de Boeck, director of investment company Antea from Den Haag. Antea focuses mainly on SMEs. After several rounds of negotiations, Antea became a co-shareholder of Interhal and provided the additional capital needed.

In addition, Robert says that Raymond Sieben, Diligence's business acquisition specialist, was able to empathize well with both parties, both his client (Interhal) and the investor (Antea). "In any negotiation process there can be a temporary impasse and it is better when a third party like Raymond points out to you that it is better to sit down at the table in private," is how Robert describes it. No legal wrangling, but above all emphasizing the interpersonal aspect. That is the only way to come to a good conclusion together.

Results achieved
Guus van der Borgt can continue to realize his dreams for Interhal and focus on nice business acquisitions in the coming years to further expand the organization. He has agreed with Antea to stay on as managing director for the next five years to realize the goals he has with Interhal. Antea participates with a 50% stake, 20% went to a second participant and Guus van der Borgt retains 30% of the shares and continues to manage.
