Solar energy specialist NewSolar B.V. gets a new owner

Solar energy specialist NewSolar B.V. from Woudenberg gets a new owner after 10 years. Johan Overvest is transferring 100% of his company's shares to Klein en Zonen BV. Overvest was assisted throughout the sale process by Company Brokers from Geldermalsen. The former owner will use the coming months for a careful transfer and will also remain involved in the business after this period.

NewSolar B.V. is a company that specializes in the purchase and sale of customized solar energy solutions. In addition to selling customized solutions, it also offers additional services such as repairs, maintenance and information on everything to do with solar energy. In the coming years, the company also plans to focus on new technologies including smart-charging, energy storage systems and heat systems.

Johan Overvest started the business in 2006 and built it into a respected company with a permanent core of employees. To further facilitate the future growth of the business, the search for a suitable party to acquire NewSolar began in 2017.

The new owner, Jasper Klein, has an electrical engineering background in the offshore industry and in recent years has worked with major contractors to realize offshore wind farms.

Klein wants NewSolar to continue its commercial development with new impetus and fresh insights: "NewSolar's potential is enormous. During the sales process there appeared to be a good click with the former owner and a shared vision about the future plans of the organization. Together with Johan, we will work carefully on the transfer in the coming months after which the cooperation will be maintained in the future. The strategy with NewSolar is to achieve growth that is realistic in the current market."

Johan Overvest adds, "The click between buyer and seller was evident from the start of negotiations. Both parties were very positive in the short negotiation process. This made the sale very pragmatic with a successful conclusion as a result. In addition, it is important that the transfer is done carefully and allows further cooperation in the future."

All NewSolar employees will join the takeover. Initially, business operations will continue unabated from the location at Zuidbroek 22 in Woudenberg.
