EBS Trading sells bicycle parts and bicycles (high-end racing and mountain bikes) to both the wholesale and retail markets. The products are purchased from original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).

In recent years people have started to do a lot more (endurance) sports, as a result of which the market for bicycles has also grown considerably. Bas Goossens, owner of EBS Trading, has had the ambition for years to increase his presence in the end market. This was also encouraged by one of his customers, John Moss of Merlin Cycles UK. Merlin Cycles UK is one of the longest running and leading online bike stores in the UK. When John was ready to sell his business, he saw the perfect match in both Bas' business and Bas personally. To become a leading player in Western Europe, a third party was the goal.

This third party was found through The FIELDS Group. FIELDS invests in businesses in various sectors, building on a Buy&Build strategy. FIELDS has added the business Absolut Bikes to its portfolio. Absolut Bikes is a leading B2B e-commerce business in Germany.

By combining these three businesses, a leading player in Western Europe is born. It accelerates the international expansion with the wholesale and retail function under one umbrella and thus also optimizes the product flow with distribution centers in Germany, the Netherlands and the UK.
