BuyInside assists Casper de Nooijer with management buy-in Bamboo

Casper de Nooijer became the owner of Bamboo Import Europe through a management buy-in, together with two investors. Previously, he held management and board positions at Heineken, PwC and Audax, among others.

Casper reported to BuyInside with the desire to look for suitable businesses for acquisition. A business in which a combination of consumer product, sustainable and marketing was important. After discussions with several targets, BuyInside was able to introduce Bamboo to Casper. The click with the two owners and Casper's experience, which this business needed to grow to the next stage, proved to be decisive. Casper and the Bamboo team will focus on geographical expansion, product range expansion and supply chain optimization.

Bamboo Import Europe

Bamboo Import Europe is the largest importer and seller of bamboo (products) for consumers in the European Union. There are currently 14 sales points in Europe. The company is the European market leader in bamboo products for the garden and is steadily expanding its range - which currently consists of about 300 different products - to include products for indoor use.

Bamboo Import Europe buys its products directly from the source - including in Asia, South America and Europe - and sells online and from its warehouse in Beverwijk to mainly private individuals. Sustainability is central to the organization. Thus, the entire supply chain is, on balance, CO2-negative. Suppliers are also expected to pay bamboo farmers fair prices for their raw materials.
