Gradual acquisition HedoN Electronic Developments by Robert-Jan Vreeburg

Robert-Jan Vreeburg has realized a management buy-in (mbi) at the Delft business HedoN electronic developments (www.hedon.nl). Robert-Jan will acquire the shares of the 3 founders of the business through a phased acquisition. During an initial introductory period of 6 months, which preceded the final transaction, with Robert-Jan serving as a full board member, expectations for a fruitful cooperation and successful acquisition were quickly confirmed for both parties.

HEDON

HedoN is a business, based in Delft, that develops and manufactures high-tech electronics. HedoN started 35 years ago as a spin-off from Delft University of Technology and has shown steady growth over the years. Located on the Delftech park, HedoN remains in close proximity to the latest technological developments and surrounded by new technical talent. Over the years, HedoN has become the technology partner of small and medium-sized businesses as well as international listed companies. As a technology partner, HedoN participates and co-invests in the development of new products for its customers.

MANAGEMENT BUY-IN

Robert-Jan Vreeburg has a technical education (Dr. in Chemistry) after which he held various international management and executive positions in leading businesses, including Shell and in the food sector. For Shell he also lived in England for 7 years.

BuyInside actively searched for Robert-Jan for a technical production and development company, which, in addition to succession, needed new commercial élan, management experience and entrepreneurship to take the business to the next growth phase. The important "click" between the shareholders and Robert-Jan resulted relatively quickly in the choice of a phased acquisition.

At HedoN, Robert-Jan will focus on building on existing relationships and business development. The current owners will continue to play an advisory role in the background.
