Effective January 17, de Smaakspecialist is taking over the distribution of (gluten-free) food brands from BestPartner; part of the transaction includes the SamMils, Emco, Vitabella and Coppenrath brands. With this acquisition, the Taste Specialist expands its market position. BestPartner's products nicely complement de Smaakspecialist's product portfolio. The Baker Tilly Corporate Finance team assisted BestPartner in the sale of the company.

BestPartner offers a wide range of certified gluten-free products. The company has exclusive sales rights to a variety of gluten-free food brands. BestPartner is also active in the field of product innovation in cooperation with (international) food producers. Over the years, the company has built a good reputation and developed into a reputable party in the field of gluten-free foods. The Waalwijk company has a valuable international network.

De Smaakspecialist is active in the development, production and distribution of sustainable food products. With consideration for people, animals and nature, the Taste Specialist makes products that can be found in supermarkets. Some of the brand names under which the products are offered are Smaakt, BioToday and RAW Organic Food. De Smaakspecialist has been occupying Landgoed Luchtenburg in Ulvenhout since the spring of 2020. Since its founding in 2004, the company has grown into an organization consisting of over thirty employees.

The acquisition of BestPartner fulfills a wish for De Smaakspecialist. Through the acquisition, de Smaakspecialist is fulfilling its mission of international expansion.
