Sports supplier Bosan acquired by French industry peer Abeo
The Dutch company Bosan, a manufacturer and supplier of sports equipment, has been incorporated by Abeo, a French listed business operating within the same industry. Lorijn van Leersum of Baker Tilly Berk Corporate Finance assisted the shareholders of Bosan B.V. in the sale of 100% of the shares to ABEO S.A.
The Dutch family business Bosan is a manufacturer and supplier of sports equipment. As a manufacturer, Bosan has the entire process from design to production under its own management. The product range includes equipment for both sports and exercise education, as well as a wide range of common sports & play materials. Think for example of gymnastic equipment, climbing walls, wall covering or basketball or tennis installations. The business operates internationally with an office in Haaksbergen and from Belgium with an office in Melle. The business consists of about 75 employees and last year achieved revenue of nearly 11 million.
Richard and Marieke Ten Bos, the management team behind Bosan, stated, "We are very pleased with this merger, which will ensure Bosan's future for both its customers and employees. This continued transaction with a group like ABEO will also allow Bosan to expand into new markets."
France's ABEO, a world leader in sports and leisure equipment, specializes in the production and sale of sporting goods. Its activities are divided into three divisions: gymnastics and other sports, climbing walls, and locker rooms. ABEO has 1,300 employees, 400 of whom are in France, spread over 34 sites. The group achieves 30% of its revenue in France, 52% in Europe and 18% in the rest of the world.
Since Abeo's IPO in 2016, the business has been fully committed to a buy-and-build growth strategy. The acquisition of Bosan was the sixth acquisition in 16 months, which sees Abeo grow its total revenue to 180 million.
