Description

M2D Ontwikkeling(M2D) and Focus on Impact(FOI), together with a consortium of investors, have acquired the iconic office building Het Boek in Amsterdam-Sloterdijk. The selling party is a fund managed by REAL IS. The Rijksvastgoedbedrijf leases the approximately 40,000-square-meter building, with the Belastingdienst, FIOD and Douane as users.

With this acquisition, FOI and M2D take another strategic step in realizing value-creating, future-proof urban investments, in line with previous joint acquisitions.

Het Boek is located at Kingsfordweg 1, right on the A10 ring road and a stone's throw from Sloterdijk station. The design by architect Abe Bonnema is a household word in Amsterdam architecture: a building in the shape of a book, with Jeroen Henneman's characteristic artwork 'The Wheel' on the roof.

The new owners see great potential in both the building and its surroundings. FOI and M2D have the joint ambition to make Het Boek more sustainable, make the building future-proof and give it a new role within the development of Sloterdijk.

Stijn van der Stap and Imbert van Weverwijk assisted M2D in this transaction.
