Euro-Rijn strengthens its position in inland shipping logistics with a stake in Elbe Rijn Lloyd

DVAN Advocaten has assisted the Euro-Rijn group with the acquisition of a strategic interest in Elbe Rijn Lloyd B.V., an experienced charterer of inland navigation vessels.

With this investment, Euro-Rijn strengthens its position in the inland shipping sector and further expands its network and services throughout Europe. Elbe Rijn Lloyd, based in Ridderkerk, is known for its expertise in chartering inland barges and focuses on bulk cargo and special transport on the Rhine, German canals and waterways in Eastern Europe. Among other things, the business transports bulk goods such as fertilizers, coal and grain, as well as general cargo such as non-ferrous metals and bagged goods. Elbe Rijn Lloyd also specializes in project cargoes, construction materials and heavy loads, and has a fleet of 40 vessels under the Dutch flag, as well as dedicated vessels from Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic. The investment underlines Euro-Rijn's ambition to further optimize its transport services. This cooperation will join forces, which will lead to improved service to customers in the field of inland shipping logistics.
