Groendus acquired EnergieMeetBedrijf2020 ('EMB2020') on July 6, 2021. EMB2020, together with Het Meetbedrijf, will form the metering division of Groendus, thus becoming an important link in Groendus' ambition to provide 100% clean energy to all of corporate Netherlands.
EMB2020 collects, validates and distributes energy data for thousands of large business consumers in the Netherlands. This acquisition more than doubles the number of metering points for which Groendus is responsible. EMB2020 also has its own software for reading and processing metering data, which will put Groendus in an even better position to retrieve customers' energy data in real time and in great detail.
With the collected metering data, Groendus facilitates, through its own Energy Marketplace, the purchase and sale of electricity. This acquisition fits well with the objective of Groendus to bring sustainably generated energy and consumed energy closer together, simultaneously and as locally as possible.
